Sand Tracking

Sunday, June 13, 2021, 10am to 4pm

with Nick and Valerie Wisniewski

Sand provides the opportunity to identify the tracks of many animals. Species that may leave tracks range from our smallest mammals, Shrews, to our largest mammals, Moose. Bird tracks may range from the smallest songbirds to eagles. And, the tracks of invertebrates, from crickets to freshwater clams may also present themselves. We will be walking in a very scenic area where the sand never fails to delight!

Location: New Salem, Massachusetts

Activity Level: Moderate, on mostly flat terrain. Bring sunscreen and dress appropriately, as we will be in open sunshine throughout the day. Heavy rain will cancel the program.

Fee: $50
