Great Places: The William Cullen Bryant Homestead

Saturday, May 11, 2019, 10am to 1:30pm

with Bob Leverett

Join the cofounder and Executive Director of the Eastern Native Tree Society (ENTS), as he takes us on another memorable journey in the Great Places series. Experience the enthralling eloquence of old-growth evangelist and forest ecology expert Bob Leverett as he entertains, enraptures, and enlightens in this exceptional environment.

Location: Cummington, Massachusetts, in the scenic Berkshire Mountains

A walk in Bryantís Woods rates with the best of New Englandís woodland experiences. Bryant believed he had original virgin forest on the land of his childhood in Cummington, Massachusetts, and in fact, an old-growth remnant still exists on the Bryant homestead, with ancient hemlocks, yellow birches, and sugar maples. In addition, the property contains one of the most impressive mature white pine forests in all of New England, with trees over 150 feet tall!

Activity Level: Easy to moderate, some off-trail

Fee: $50
